"This is a delicious cheese dip that my daughter makes. The cream cheese gives it a wonderful consistency. All the fresh ingredients make this a dip that you will be asked for over and over again! Please note I have put "to taste" on alot of the ingredients as it depends on how big your bunch of veggies are. If you actually get lucky enough to have any left it keeps in the fridge a good while and reheats great. I usually serve/take this dip in a crockpot so it stays warm."

  1. Made this recipe tonight for a party of 20 women. It was a huge hit! The only thing I strayed from on the recipe was I didn’t see that the Velveeta called for was the Mexican Cheese variety and I had bought the Original Velveeta. After mixing in everything as the recipe called for, I went back to the store and found a small block of the Mexican Velveeta and added it. I did everything in a regular sized crock pot on low for a little under 2 hours and it was creamy and tasty! I highly recommend this recipe and I will definitely be making it again!

  2. I%u2019ve got mountains of dip recipes from all over the internet (mostly from here) but this one is by far the absolute best I%u2019ve ever tried. I made it in the microwave, melting the cheeses together first and then stirring in the other fresh ingredients. 5 stars isn%u2019t enough, really it was just so stinkin good. I made it for a baby shower and people kept coming back to the dip bowl for more. This will be my standard dip recipe for now on. I can%u2019t imagine finding another recipe better then this one.

  3. My daughter made this recipe to take to her bf's house for something to munch on during the football game, however she was unable to get it out the door fast enough as we all had to dive in to this one. She made the dip according to the recipe adding 4 chili's. This is so much better than the usual velveta cheese dip. Thanks for sharing!

  4. I made this at work today and served it to 6 people. Almost all of it was eaten and one of the girls, who is from Africa, said she will make this at home and eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I only put 2 jalapenos because some didn't like it too hot but I left the seeds in and when I make it at home I will put more. The hotter the better! Everyone gave it 5 stars and if there were more so would it score! Thanks so much for a delicious dip, much better than plain old rotel dip. Nancy

  5. This recipe did not turn out at all like I felt it should have, based on the reviews. It was much too thick. It was also quite bland, despite all of the fresh ingredients that were added. I would not use this recipe again.

Tweaks

  1. I had to add milk, then later added a good deal of water, as it was still too thick. Too much cream cheese, it seems like. There was little flavor, even before the liquids were added. Added salt and Tony S. with little results.

  3. If I could give this more than 5 stars I would, WONDERFUL! Didn't follow the recipe exactly, I gently sauted the onions, tomatoes, garlic and jalapenos (about 8 slices from a jar as didn't have fresh) then added 8oz cream cheese, 5 oz Mexican cheese (as didn't have the full amount) and made up the rest of the cheese with mature cheddar. I have a good recipe which uses sour cream instead of the cream cheese but I have to say this beats it hands down; we can't stop raving about it and will have it again soon, thank you!!!

I am a wife, Mother and Grandmother. I am a native Texan and can't imagine living anywhere else. My Grandmother taught me to cook before I could see the top of the counter. I remember standing on a stool in her kitchen learning to make pancakes. My Mother loved to cook and it seems she was cooking (or cleaning) most of the time. So those are the two ladies responsible for nurturing my love of cooking!<a href="http://s245.photobucket.com/albums/gg77/monji74/?action=view&current=groupie1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg77/monji74/groupie1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>As you can see I cook and review recipes more than I post them. That's because I am a pinch of this and a dollop of that cook and it's hard to put those recipes down on paper.<img src="http://www.satsleuth.com/cooking/Swap14.JPG"> <img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/untitled.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"> <img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/200_artistrichardneuman-art-prints_.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting">
