UVU has great vibes. I love being a student here! I feel safe on and around campus. I’ve had to contact the UVU police before and they are always available and quick to respond. Safety is a top priority at UVU as well as security. Specifically, I love that UVU offers programs for students struggling with food insecurity. The food pantry is a great resource that’s open to all students and UVU is very clear about that. You don’t have to be in abject poverty to have access to the food pantry or student health services. I love the posters around the school that say something like, “buy gas or buy food? Buy gas! Use the UVU pantry!” I also happen to be a student employee at UVU which means I’m a mandatory reporter should anyone come to me with a title IX violation. This is very important to me and adds an extra measure of safety to the school. Overall, UVU is a happy place where the students have fun and are encouraged to have the best college experience possible. Go Wolverines!

It's a very good university and what I really like there is the diversity. This University is open to everyone regardless of your background. Also, it is important to say that the teachers are extraordinary!

It's been a generally awarding experience, and they make strives towards inclusion and diversity, but there is a long way to go. The student population can be fairly conservative, but is almost evenly split about politics. They have a fairly large population of students of color, but as it is Utah, which has a reputation for being a very white state, it is still majority white students. There is a large amount of international students, though, which is nice to see. The campus feels very safe. Some of the professors are lacking in areas, though, so be aware of that when you apply to classes (I would recommend Bethany Crowton, but she's retiring after this semester sadly). Orem is a bit unsafe, especially for women, so be weary.
